okay, im a freshmen in highschool and about to start jv football. im bout 5′8, i weigh 130, and im somewhat fast. What position should i try out for? PLEASE REPLY
Also, remember that quartebacks are taught to not throw long outs, because a lot don’t have the strength to put the velocity needed to get it their. If you know this, then you know that a if you’re on that long side some routes are going to be reduced, and most likely an 8,6, slant or a possible daring 9 may be in the call. You shouldn’t guess but it’s good to be aware.
Corner advice in zone coverage, if something is going in, then something is coming out. Never think that your zone is clear. The quarterback locks and tracks crossing routes as their last read, and may not notice you, but you see that backside 6 route that the line backers never see. How deep you play depends on the coverage or length of field. Always be aware of the ball placement, because short fields help you in coverage. Why, because it reduces the deep ball – play your technique.
Bad advice you should avoid turning you hips you should stem. DB should work on his backpedal as much as if not more than his running so that he can run fast backwards because that is how you get paid running backward. If the receiver is not fast enough to make you turn your hips you can lock him down if you have the atleticism to chalenge him for the ball. I would burn the shit out of this guy and score at will running half speed.

I start at FS and have some exp in corner, I’ll give you guys some tips:In backpedal, always stay low, on your toes, arms pumping. Head up. Anticipate the WR’s direction and unless you’re super fast turn his way before he reaches you. Unless you have good vision, keep your eyes on the WR not the QB as you will get beat. Try and always keep the play infront of you. If you get beat deep, chase the WR, don’t look at the ball ’till you get to him.
man that shit is mad true about reading recivers hips it way better i play corner and i use to read the eyes and the qb’s eyes and i use to get beat alot but ever since i watched the hips i finished off the last 5 games with 4 interceptions and 6 pass deflections on ma brothers grave it really helps
well yahh illegal man downfield dude lol
