I know I am very unpopular for attacking the #1 sport in America but football is not a good sport for teens, or anyone else for that matter. Two reasons – death and injury. •Death. If playing football is healthy then why do NFL die 20 year earlier than the average American! Why? Because it is an unhealthy sport. The unnaturally high bodyweight required to succeed leads to premature death. •Injury. Think skateboarding is dangerous? Teens are 5x more likely to get injured playing football than skateboarding! So whats a better option for teens than football? Anything except video games. The best in my book are Soccer, basketball, hockey and doubles volleyball because speed, endurance, agility and coordination are most important – all things that promote true fitness and health. We have a teen obesity epidemic here in the USA and the last thing I want to do is give teens a reason to sit at home but please dont play footlball – choose soccer, basketball, hockey, or doubles volleyball as your sport instead.

25 lbs in 6 months is nothing. What about sports like wrestling, mma or rowing? Much worse than football, you only need to be a certain weight for a certain positon. Also, your death factor is NOT from gaining wieght, it is from the wear and tear the body is put under during football season, the majority of these being head traumas from not tackling correctly.

Football is a good sport depending on the roll u play. Example would be a kicker.
Scooby is over his normal bodyweight but he gained muscle very slowly and naturally, over the course of about 25 years of bodybuilding and eating very clean. The main point of this video is that it’s insane to ask a teenage boy to gain 20 lbs or more in 5 months.

Are you telling me you always spent $ 3.000 on checking your body compostion? No, you used the easy way. Which isn’t accurate in situations like this. Internal fat can only be measured using high tech equipment which costs allot of money.
If you really gained 40lbs of solid muscle, you should have increased your strength likewise. Did you? I obviously can’t decide from here, but theoretically it’s not likely. How much did you lift the big three before and after you gained that weight?
